FAQ

  • What is Pilates?

Pilates is a full body and low-impact workout focusing on 6 key principles: alignment, control, concentration, breathing, flow and precision. You will improve postural alignment for a great figure with lean and strong muscles.

  • How will Pilates benefit me?

A toned and lean body with a super strong core (bye back pain !). Pilates will work for your core and strenghten your deep mucles for an improved posture and a great figure. In each class, we work both the upper and lower body so that you can get better at everything else you are doing.

  • What is the difference between Pilates mat and Pilates on the equipment?

Pilates is a method created by Mr. Joseph Pilates using different pieces of equipment. The Reformer and the Tower, to name a few, are machines that guide your movements and create resistance through the use of tense springs, which challenge your practice. They are a lot of fun: you’ll shake and burn without even realizing it!

  • I have never done Pilates before, can I join one of your classes?

Of course ! Pilates is for everyone: from coach potatoes to athletes. We recommend you book yourself onto a Newbie class at first. We can’t wait to introduce you to the wonders of the method.

  • What is the difference between Tower and Reformer classes?

They are two different types of Pilates machines. Reformers are sliding platforms complete with springs, footwork and handles. Towers are directly attached to the wall. You’ll get it when you see them! In both cases you will be working with no impact at all and focusing on the concept of control to engage your deep muscles. We offer all our classes either on the Reformer or the Tower: except for Bootie Barre and Killer Tower that are only available on the Tower and Jump Baby Jump that is only available on the Reformer. They are extremely effective and fun se we recommend you try them both!

  • Do you have a special offer for new clients?

We are so happy to welcome new clients at the studio. We have a “new client” offer available so that you can enjoy two classes for the price of one.

  • What do I need for my first class?

We tried to make your life as easy as possible so you don’t need much. Arrive 10 minutes early so we can tell you everything you need to know about the studio/facilities and your class. You just need a pair of clean socks and comfortable clothes (without zippers as they are uncomfortable on the equipment). That’s it 🙂 We have showers, REN Skincare products, free towels and even a little something to snack on before or after your class.

  • Do you have showers?

Yes we do! Our showers are equipped with REN Skincare products and we have complimentary towels as well. We got your back!

  • How much experience do I need to join an "Intense", "Killer Tower" or "Jump Baby Jump" class?

These classes are intense because they require more technical skills than others and a better knowledge ot the equipment and the method: they are fast-paced and teachers will assume you are familiar with Pilates vocabulary. The Newbie and Flow classes both offer a full body workout, starting with those will ensure your experience at the studio is much more rewarding and effective. We recommend that you get used to the equipment and the method first before moving up to the next level. When you feel ready, GO FOR IT ! If you need help figuring out which level is right for you, do not hesitate to ask. We are always happy to help!

  • Do you offer private classes?

Yes we do ! Both individuals and duets are available to book online or directly at the studio. After receiving your request we will check that your teacher is available before getting back to you with a confirmation, or an alternative date/time, within 24 hours.

  • How do I cancel a class?

You can cancel a reservation by logging into your account. You have the right to cancel or change your reservation up to 24 hours before your class starts, free of charge. We cannot make any changes or cancellations after the 24 hour deadline and missed classes will be counted as used. Because of the small size of our classes, our cancellation policy is strict: every class cancelled less than 24 hours before the start time will result in a lost credit.

  • How does the waitlist work?

When a class is full you have the option to join the waitlist. If someone cancels more than 24 hours before the class, you will be automatically added to the class and receive an email confirmation. If the cancellation happens less than 24 hours in advance, you won’t be automatically added and we will give you a call to check if you are still interested in attending.

  • I am injured or pregnant, can I join your classes?

If you are injured, we will do our best to accomodate you in class. However, it’s best to have written permission from your doctor and to book yourself into a Newbie class at first. Please always make sure to let the teacher know about your condition before the class starts.

If you are pregnant, you are welome to either join a Prenatal group class or to book a private class with one of our skilled teachers.

  • What is the ideal rhythm?

Good question ! We think that slow and steady wins the race so it is always better to stick to once a week for the long run than 3 times a week for a month. Ideally, we would recommend 2 to 3 times a week.
